Short number plates reduce the length of the physical plate around your registration. They can give a more compact appearance where the registration and vehicle mounting space suit the format. They do not change your registration number or give you the rights to a new private registration.
For road use, shortening a plate does not mean shrinking the characters, moving letters together or removing the required margins. The final plate must retain a compliant layout. If you are unsure whether your registration fits, contact us before ordering.

Do you sell short private registration numbers on this page?
This page is for the physical replacement plates made for a registration you already own. Buying the rights to a short private registration is a separate process.
Can any registration go on a shortened plate?
The available space must accommodate the required characters, grouping and margins. A shorter registration may allow a more compact plate, but the final dimensions and layout need to suit your actual registration.
Can I order a short front plate and a different rear shape?
Yes. Select a pair in the product customiser and configure the compatible front and rear formats separately. Check both mounting spaces before ordering.
Are short plates road legal?
A shortened plate can be suitable for road use when the finished configuration meets the applicable rules. Choose road-legal use and retain the required character sizes, spacing, margins and markings. Show-only options are not for road use.
