What you’re buying
The registration is formed with raised gel characters rather than a flat printed finish. The rounded surface gives the lettering a softer appearance than a sharp-edged acrylic style.
Choose the plate side and a compatible format, then add available borders, flags or fixings. The live preview is a visual guide to your chosen layout.

Raised gel lettering with a rounded finish
3D gel number plates use raised, rounded black characters to give your registration a smooth dimensional appearance. The softer character edges are the main visual difference from the straight-edged finish of 4D acrylic.
Choose 3D gel when you prefer rounded lettering. If you want a more defined acrylic profile, compare our 4D plates; for acrylic with a gel face, compare 4D gel. The product photograph shows the finish on a real plate, while the builder previews your own registration.

What is the difference between 3D gel and 4D gel plates?
3D gel has raised, rounded gel characters. Our 4D gel finish combines raised acrylic characters with a gel face. Compare the product photographs to choose the appearance you prefer.
Can I choose a short or hex 3D gel plate?
Yes, compatible short and hex formats are available in the customiser. The final road-use layout must still meet the required character, spacing and margin rules.
