The registration uses 3 mm acrylic characters to create a crisp raised profile. This is the straightforward 4D option if you prefer defined edges over the rounded look of gel.
Choose a compatible size or shape, then configure any available border, flag and fixing. Front and rear plates can be selected together or individually.
Our 4D acrylic number plates use 3 mm black acrylic characters with a sharp-edged, raised profile. This measurement describes the characters, not the overall plate thickness. Compared with 3D gel, the lettering has a more defined outline; compared with 4D gel, it has an acrylic face without the gel topping.
Build a front plate, rear plate or pair, with compatible standard, short and hex shapes. You can configure front and rear formats separately when ordering a pair, so check each mounting space before choosing your shapes.
A road-legal selection must meet the applicable layout, character and plate requirements. We check identity and entitlement to the registration before making road-legal plates.

Our road-legal plate components have been tested for BS AU 145e compliance. We inspect every finished plate for imperfections before it leaves our workshop. The complete plate and its configuration must also meet the applicable road-use requirements.
About our workshop36 months against manufacturing defects, which covers the plate, the print and the bond between the layers and the plate. It does not cover damage from fitting, impact, power washing or chemicals. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
Warranty and returns informationRaised characters are permitted, but the finished plate must meet all applicable requirements, including character colour, font, size, spacing, reflectivity and markings. Choose a compliant road-legal configuration; display-only customisations are not for road use.
Choose our 3 mm 4D acrylic characters for defined edges and an acrylic face. Choose our approximately 5 mm 4D gel characters if you prefer the layered acrylic construction with a rounded gel face. Both finishes have their own product photographs to help you compare.
