The registration is formed with rounded gel characters approximately 2 mm deep rather than a flat printed finish. The rounded surface gives the lettering a softer appearance than a sharp-edged acrylic style.
Choose the plate side and a compatible format, then add available borders, flags or fixings. The live preview is a visual guide to your chosen layout.
Our 3D gel number plates use raised, rounded black characters approximately 2 mm deep. This describes the raised characters, not the overall plate thickness. The softer character edges are the main visual difference from the straight-edged finish of 4D acrylic.
Choose 3D gel when you prefer rounded lettering. If you want a more defined acrylic profile, compare our 4D plates; for acrylic with a gel face, compare 4D gel. The product photograph shows the finish on a real plate, while the builder previews your own registration.
A road-legal selection must meet the applicable layout, character and plate requirements. We check identity and entitlement to the registration before making road-legal plates.

Our road-legal plate components have been tested for BS AU 145e compliance. We inspect every finished plate for imperfections before it leaves our workshop. The complete plate and its configuration must also meet the applicable road-use requirements.
About our workshop36 months against manufacturing defects, which covers the plate, the print and the bond between the layers and the plate. It does not cover damage from fitting, impact, power washing or chemicals. This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
Warranty and returns informationOur 3D gel characters are approximately 2 mm deep, with a rounded gel finish. Our 4D gel combines acrylic characters with a gel face for approximately 5 mm of character depth. Compare the product photographs to choose the appearance you prefer.
Yes, compatible short and hex formats are available in the customiser. The final road-use layout must still meet the required character, spacing and margin rules.
